The Team
TH LAB is the Division within the product department and the Brand that is focused on creating exciting collaborations with external brands in order to create capsules that are celebrating the DNA of the brand while shaping something exciting and new that would not have been possible without the external brand partners.

The TH LAB exists to create brand awareness, brand credibility and increase brand desire.

The Position

Reporting into the Senior Designer Director, you will work across multiple product categories researching and designing for the Women’s Tommy Hilfiger Lab: Tommy Hilfiger RTW Collection, Collaborations and Special projects.

Working across multiple capsule collections and projects in parallel you will need to be organized, agile and flexible.  The projects are diverse; including seasonal RTW collections, celebrity partnerships, designer/brand collaborations and fashion shows.  The right candidate needs to have great taste, drive, confidence and passion for design. A feminine handwriting and strong drawings skills are required.

A strong understanding of the premium and luxury market segment is essential, with an intuitive sense of how to implement these trends into the collection while making sure the Tommy Hilfiger brand DNA is present in every garment.

You will work directly with two Senior Designers, and the Design Studio Manager as well as forming close communication with the Men’s TH Lab designers.  Build strong relationships with your product developers and merchandisers, as well as the internal and freelance print and graphics designers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and present creative research to be used as input to the collection concepts and design (e.g style outs, samples, mock-ups, trims).
  • Research and design fabrics, trims and create handovers to launch developments with relevant team.
  • Design across multiple product categories with a feminine hand with confidence and understanding of the brand DNA. Communicate and present those ideas with clarity.
  • Confident use of Illustrator & Photoshop to create detailed CAD sketches, overviews and colour-ups.
  • Concept and communicate with the print and graphics team clear project briefings. Create technical artwork pages for placement graphics, all-over prints and fabric developments as needed for a smooth handover to development.
  • Concept and artwork new trim developments including labelling, hardware and decorative applications/badges as needed.
  •  Complete detailed tech packs for handover to product development and suppliers through-out the critical path. Maintain and work to key deadlines.
  • Attendance and participation at proto reviews, costing meetings and merchandising meetings throughout the critical path.
  • Fittings of styles with product development and fit technicians.
  • Clear visual and verbal presentation skills; organization preparation throughout collection key meetings, take notes, make updates and revisions based on feedback/developments.
  • A hardworking, organized team player, that’s a great communicator is essential.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A degree from an BA/MA/alternative fashion design program 
  • 3 years plus experience designing in the premium-luxury womenswear market
  • Experience working on fast passed collaborative projects is not necessary but is a plus
  • Experience working on shows preferred
  • A multi-product designer with great taste and a feminine handwriting
  • In-depth knowledge of the luxury market and trends
  • Innovative and collaborative designer with a good understanding of constructions and materials
  • Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks, projects and seasons simultaneously
  • Adaptability/flexibility/resilience and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment  
  •  Confident to work independently as well as in a team  
  • Proactive approach to the work place, able to support and adapt to the needs of the team
  • Strong freehand illustration/drawing skills with feminine handwriting 
  • Strong capability in both Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Good eye for fit and garment construction and attention to detail 
  • Good fabric understanding  
  • Excellent communication skills, fluency in written and spoken English are a mus ​
