Fun Paper Plate Apple Craft for kids

Paper Plate Apple Craft

Looking for a really fun-to-make apple craft for kids? This paper plate apple craft is stunning and makes such a fun project and decoration to celebrate the first week of school or autumn with a September Craft. All you need are a few simple materials you probabaly already have on hand plus our free printable apple template to make this beautiful apple craft for preschoolers, toddlers, kindergartners, grade 1, and grade 2 students. Make one or make several so you have a red apple, yellow apple, and green apple with our fun apple activities technique! Whether you are a parent, teacher, or homeschooler – this apple craft for kindergarten is sure to be a hit!

Apple Craft

• white paper plate
• white or cream colored yarn
• hole punch
• construction paper – red, yellow, green
• scissors
• glue
• apple craft printable template (bottom of post)
• crayons, markers, or colored pencils

Apple Craft for kids

Carefully cut the inside of your white paper plate leaving about a 3″ border.

Apple Craft for Preschoolers

Now use a hole punch to make circle cut-outs around the inside of your paper plate evenly spaced out about 1″ or so.

Apple Crafts Preschool

Insert yarn through the hole and begin going back and forth in random patterns to create almost a web-like design in your paper plate.

Apple Craft for Kindergarten

Continue until you have a pretty dense, but still see-through yarn web. You can use tape to affix the end of the yarn if you like; cut off the rest.

Apple Activities

Cut small, 1″ squares out of construction paper with scissors.  IF you are making a red delicious apple, use red paper, for a granny smith green apple use green apper, for a yellow delicious apple use yellow paper, and so forth.

Apple Crafts for Toddlers

Use glue to begin afixing the red squares of paper on the paper plate border. Make sure you overlap the other red squares.

Continue going all around the plate so that there is none of the paper plate border showing.

Use crayons, markers, or colored pencils to decorate the leaves, worms, and seeds in the apple craft template printable. Now cut them all out carefully.

September Craft

Now glue on the brown construction pape stem, green leaf, black seeds, and then tuck in the worm through the openings between the yarn.

You can repeat to make a green apple craft, yellow apple craft, and red apple craft too.
