We are hiring a Head of Operations (Korea).

To champion our expansion in Korea, we are on the hunt for a Head of Operations to be based in our Seoul office. You will work with our world class C-suite in Asia to carry out ambitious short and long term business plans and support market launches effectively. You'll be tasked to build our operations capabilities from 0 to 1 in Korea and ensure a smooth process by working closely with cross-functional teams across the organisation. You will also lead strategic initiatives and drive continuous operational improvements. This role will report to the COO for Asia.

What you will be doing?
  • Be responsible for all operations in Korea including fulfilment and transportation operations.
  • In-charge of domestic and cross border trade.
  • Setup, maintain and upkeep of all facilities.
  • Responsible for setting up all the logistic contracts. This includes sourcing, procuring, and negotiating contracts with related vendors (manpower, 3PLs, facilities, etc).
  • Ensure strict adherence to procurement policies and country regulations.
  • Responsible for the relationship with vendors for logistics.
  • Directly accountable for the operational P&L within the company and for all operational performance in Korea.
  • Manage a team of 10 staff initially which will grow based on the success of the business.
  • Lead by example and be obsessed with the growth of your buyers, sellers and employees. You will spend a majority of your time with buyers, sellers and with your employees.
  • Responsible for employee morale, motivation, training, and growth.
  • You spend very little time on creating powerpoint.
  • Communicate to stakeholder teams in a very structured, concise and to the point fashion in all channels - memos, phone/video. You are responsible to maintain good lines of communication with all levels of the company.

Who you are?
  • Native command of the Korean language and a good command of English.
  • Strong communication skills. Ability to synthesize complex information into very simple language.
  • Work-experience for at least 10 years. You have led field logistic teams (fulfilment, warehousing or distribution) for at least 8 of those years.
  • Have led team sizes of at least 20 people.
  • Mnaged vendors, suppliers, contractors, and manpower agencies.
  • Demonstrated passion and thirst for knowledge in logistics.
