We are currently seeking a highly creative and innovative womens’ leathergoods designer to be part of our dynamic and growing team.

You will work closely with our Creative Director to create unique concepts and innovative designs across all leather goods with a focus on design lead handbags.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Reporting to Creative Director to execute innovative and design lead leathergoods in line with seasonal direction and brand identity
  • Propose innovative concepts for design stories  including shapes, techniques, details, materials and hardware
  • Prepare design sketches and 3D mockups for collection development
  • Being responsible from conception up to delivery. Plan and execute projects with research, through design development, costings and into commercialisation
  • Receiving and executing feedback quickly and proactively throughout the design stage.
  • Liaising with suppliers and manufacturers
  • Reviewing all prototypes/ samples and feedback to manufactures
  • Preparing the collections for photo shootings and attending photoshoots when needed
  • Working on special projects and design capsules when required

Profile:

  • An experienced accessory and leathergoods designer  2-3 years +
  • Excellent technical knowledge in leathergoods construction
  • Excellent knowledge of leather, fabric and non traditional materials
  • Highly innovative, creative and conceptual
  • Able to translate ideas into 2D concept drawings and 3D mockups
  • Strong capabilities In Adobe and CAD Programs
  • Strong familiarity with international manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of fashion and trends
  • Strong knowledge of international markets as well as Australian market
  • Excellent in detail and presentation skills
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Able to work in an efficient way to ensure all deadlines are met
  • A team player who is hardworking and dedicated
  • Interest and passion for Fashion, Art and Architecture
  • Knowledge of English written and spoken
  • Degree in Design (Accessory and leathergoods is preferred)
  • Experience and Knowledge in other Design Areas is welcomed
