OVERVIEW:

Are you our next Senior Product Developer for Knit / Seamless? We’re looking for someone to join our Product Development team, to help bring to market, world class, fit for purpose product, built and engineered to Gymshark standard. Someone who wants to be part of a team that lifts each other up; a team that fails together and celebrates together. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

As a Senior Product Developer you are responsible for independently managing the execution of your styles from concept to launch. You will be responsible for the day to day operational tasks, to deliver the goals and objectives as set by the Development Manager – in line with the company vision.

You will use your technical skills and expertise to bring to life exciting and functional product for the Gymshark consumer, and you will collaborate with and support the Development Manager in delivering the seasonal strategies.

As a Senior Product Developer you will also: 

  • Plan and organise independently, allocated workload and support junior team members.
  • Co-ordinate daily communication with Regional offices and cross functional teams to plan and execute all aspects of development.
  • Work cross functionally to support the seasonal targets and provide technical skills, and expertise whilst guiding junior team members.
  • Proactively engage in R&D to ensure world class garment construction and engineering.
  • Ability to understand, recommend, and execute commercial construction solutions.
  • Report and track against the Product Creation Calendar and Critical Path.
  • Collaborate with Materials team on new fabric, trim and logo developments, bringing a high level of inputs and considerations to fabric selection meetings, ensuring products are built fit for purpose.
  • Co-ordinate Design/Development workshops to action pre-costing and development.
  • Work closely with Design and PM to deliver quality products, against target margins whilst maintaining Design aesthetics, and adhering to Product briefs.
  • Independently manage styles/collections from concept to launch, whilst guiding and supporting junior team members.
  • Confidently manages and supports Design handovers.
  • Can expertly create Tech Packs and BOM’s with high level of accuracy and attention to detail and support junior team members.
  • Build strong partnerships with Development Lab to bring to life new and exciting product.
  • Confidently lead fittings and proto reviews and Identify styles that require wear testing, and co-ordinate accordingly.
  • Can travel independently to overseas suppliers to effectively manage development of styles.

Management and Support: 

  • Can support the team by being an inspiring, positive, role model whilst questioning and challenging ideas from others and encourage people to challenge you.
  • Supports Development Manager in maintaining an open, transparent and safe team culture.
  • Provides timely and honest feedback to team members.
  • Actively shares ideas and opportunities within the Development team.
  • Drive the execution of seasonal projects.

Collaboration: 

  • Work closely with Development Managers and Head to deliver against the Product Development vision and strategy.
  • Works collaboratively with other Senior developers to share knowledge and expertise and establish consistent working practices across Development.
  • Support and align with peers in other Product teams.
  • Establish strong working relationships with Regional offices and build and maintain collaborative relationships with suppliers.
  • Proactively seeks opportunities to support the evolvement of the Product team.
  • Build strong partnerships with the “Development Lab” to manage development of new concepts and ideas.
  • Collaborate with Product Operations team to support and contribute to key projects where necessary and collaborate with GSIQ to commercialise innovative ideas and solutions.

Analytics:

  • Ability to analyse Costing Boms and offer viable solutions and ideas.
  • Analyse returns data for responsible styles and communicate effectively any recommendations.
  • Analyse wearer trial results, formulating action points to present to Manager/Head.

Knowledge and Opportunity:

  • Identify opportunities to promote agility within product development team.
  • Engage with and support various fit validation projects.
  • Support PLM implementation, and training as a nominated Superuser.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Appropriate qualification in apparel sector.
  • Substantial experience working in Product Development function.
  • Experience working with global Activewear / Sportswear apparel brands.
  • Excellent garment construction and engineering skills and a sound understanding of performance fabrics.
  • Experience with guiding, supporting, mentoring junior team members.
  • Demonstrate a pro-active approach to problem solving.
  • Flexible and open to evolving business needs and priorates.
  • Strong commercial awareness with an ability to identify risk and confidently provide solutions.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Adobe Illustrator.

When normal office working resumes, our expectation would require candidates to attend at least 3 days a week in GSHQ, Solihull, UK.
